Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga are surrounded by different people with unique culture, the biggest populations are the Batwa who used to live in these forests, the Bakiga and Bafumbira. The Batwa entertain the visitors by demonstrations, they sing songs, Dance etc. With Batwa experience activity in Maghinga, they will show how they used to survive in the forest, Hunting, gathering food, how they used to get fire, they will show the Garamba cave which was among the major hiding places in the forest.
Mgahinga’s most striking features are its three conical, extinct volcanoes, part of the spectacular Virunga Range that lies along the border region of Uganda, Congo, and Rwanda. Mgahinga forms part of the much larger Virunga Conservation Area which includes adjacent parks in these countries. The volcanoes’ slopes contain various ecosystems and are biologically diverse, and their peaks provide a striking backdrop to this gorgeous scenery.
The park also is a home to mammals, like the elephants, giant forest hog, bush back and not forgetting the birds and 14 endemic Albertine rift.
